wfs-beta-backend

A second copy of the World Fantasy Soccer API, kept for the beta site. It is an older snapshot of wfs-backend: everything on that page applies, except the differences below.

Code: /home/rob/code/wfs-beta-backend ยท Last checked against commit 5f0660b on 2026-10-14

Companion: wfs-beta-frontend. WFS is not related to Football Manager.

What this copy is

It has the same remote on GitHub as the main backend (robjbrain/worldfantasysoccer-2025, branch main) and its latest commit (26 June 2026, "Fix finalise gameweeks not first clearing out subs") is an ancestor of the main copy. So it is simply the main backend as it was 31 commits ago. Nothing exists here that the main copy lacks. The beta website is built to call https://beta-api.worldfantasysoccer.com/api, which is where this copy is meant to be served.

For how to run it, the full command list, the schedule, the settings and how the game works, read wfs-backend. The schedule in routes/console.php is identical (same nine jobs at the same times).

Differences from wfs-backend

Deploy script

Its deploy.sh is identical except that it runs php artisan migrate without --force. On a production setting (APP_ENV=production) Laravel then asks for confirmation, so unattended deploys stall or fail. Either answer the prompt or use the main script's flag. Run it like the main one:

Your values
cd {{BETA_DIR}}
./deploy.sh

Missing features

Compared with the main backend, this copy does not have:

The complete list is the output of git -C /home/rob/code/wfs-backend log --oneline 5f0660b..HEAD.
